Bernice Ruth (Bailey) Hicks, 75, formerly of West Virginia

Bernice Ruth (Bailey) Hicks, 75, of Statesville, North Carolina and formerly of West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2020 after an unexpected illness.

She was born on September 12, 1944 to Coy Albert Bailey and Lida McCune Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Jarrett Hicks; two brothers, Donzel Ray, Robert Gene (sister-in-law Dolores) and one sister, Betty Jane.

Surviving are her daughter, Jenny Richards (son-in-law Tony) of South Charleston, West Virginia; and her son, Randall Jarrett Hicks of Statesville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Bailey (sister-in-law Caroline) of Orma, WV and one sister, Mary Butler (brother-in-law Kenneth) also of Orma. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked hard all of her life. She will be missed by many – She will remain forever in our hearts.

A private family funeral service will be held Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Interment will be in Bailey Cemetery.
