20 CASES CONVID-19 IN WV MONDAY - Stay At Home Starts 8 PM Today

West Virginia’s confirmed cases of coronavirus have climbed to 20, the state Department of Health and Human Resources said.

New cases were identified in Kanawha and Monongalia counties, according to a news release Monday from the DHHR. The newest totals bring Kanawha County’s confirmed cases to four.

Other counties with confirmed cases are Jackson, one; Jefferson, three; Marshall County, two; Mercer County, two; Monongalia County, five; Putnam County, one; and Tucker County, two.

In Kanawha County, two employees who work at the Judicial Annex in Charleston have tested positive, county officials said. One of those employees lives in Putnam County, and one lives in Kanawha.

As of 8 p.m. Monday, 630 residents in West Virginia have been tested, with 620 testing negative. No tests were pending at the state lab. The numbers include positive and negative tests from the state’s public health lab, commercial labs and hospitals.

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice issued a stay-at-home order Monday that takes effect 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. All non-essential businesses also will be closing under the governor’s order.
