Alvin Lee Parsons, 68, of Arnoldsburg

Alvin Lee Parsons, 68, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

He was born February 23, 1952, a son of Paul Lee and Garnet Lloyd Parsons of Arnoldsburg.

Alvin owned his own business Arnoldsburg Y Motel. He was retired from Asplundh Tree Co. and Wilson Mold & Machine.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved playing music. He was a drummer like no other. He played music throughout Ohio and WV. He played with Nashville Bound (Gary Tuttle) in Ohio and, also County Line Country (Junior Tallman) in WV.

He is survived by wife, Deborah Parsons; son, Shawn Parsons; daughter-in-law Jennifer Parsons; grandchildren, Kaylee, Cayden, Isaiah; brothers, Allen Parsons (Carolyn), Randy Parsons (Mary Ann), Les Parsons (Lori); brothers-in-law, Terry Dobbins (Jeanette), Steve Dobbins, Rodney Dobbins (Deborah), Jeff Dobbins (Cammie), Mitch Dobbins (Robin); several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son, Christopher Parsons; sister, Doris Parsons; sisters-in-law, Sherry Nichols, and Kathy and Angie Dobbins.

A private family service will be held Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc. with Rev. Richard Westfall officiating. Interment will follow in Minnora Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, to be announced at a later date, when restrictions on large public gatherings have been lifted.
