Georgie Edward Nichols 92 of Grantsville

Georgie Edward Nichols 92 of Grantsville, passed away March 1, 2020 surrounded by his family at Minnie Hamilton Health System, Grantsville, WV.

He was born June 2, 1927, a son of the late George Cline Nichols and Gatha Digman Nichols of Pine Creek Road in Calhoun County, West Virginia.

He is survived by his daughters Brenda Sue Nichols and her mother Marie Diron, Bobbi Sanders (Chad Sanders) Billie Ashley, Stephanie Hartshorn (Kevin Hartshorn) Mary Elizabeth Blake (J.R. Blake) their mother Kay Richards and Misty Nichols; 18 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by special friend Brenda Greathouse and son in law Matt Ashley.

Georgie was a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. He owned and operated The Grantsville Garage for 45+ years he was a lover of all animals, he raised all kinds, he loved hunting in all seasons. The greatest sound he ever heard was rabbit dogs barking. He loved to sit on his front porch and watch the birds.

At his request there will be no service at this time, but the family will have a graveside service, at a later date. His family would like to send out a very special thank you to Ann Lacy, The West Virginia Caring of Burnsville Hospice and Minnie Hamilton for the loving care they gave our Dad.

Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc. has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
