This new or novel virus causes COVID-19. Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person sneezes or coughs and the droplets are carried in the air.

As with other respiratory diseases such as influenza, Minnie Hamilton Health System is currently tracking the spread of COVID-19 and taking precautions to help keep our patients and community safe. Listed below is a summary of steps that you can take to de-crease your chances of coming in contact with any respiratory disease.

Prevention: 1. Wash your hands often. 2. Do not touch your
eyes, nose or mouth. 3. Cover your cough/sneeze with a tissue. 4.
Avoid close contact with sick people (approximately 6 feet of dis-
tance) 5. Clean and disinfect high touch surfaces often. Some exam-
ples include door handles and desks. 6. Stay home when you are sick.

Symptoms include: 1. Fever 2. Cough
