Lloyd Richard Cayton, 88, of Glenville

Lloyd Richard Cayton, age 88 of Glenville WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, late in the evening of Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center in Glenville, following an extended illness.

He was born December 28, 1931 in Braxton County WV, son of the late Grant G. and Hazel Myers Cayton.

Lloyd is a Veteran of the United States Air Force, having served 2 years at Samson Air Force Base in New York, and 1 year in Iceland. He was self-employed as a construction worker for 35 years. Later he, along with his wife, Arvalene, moved to Houston TX to receive treatments concerning her health.

In 2015, following the death of his wife, Mr. Cayton returned to Gilmer County WV where he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork WV, the Gilmer County Farm Bureau, and Gilmer Co. Senior Citizens.

On October 28, 1950, Mr. Cayton was united in marriage to Arvalene Keith Cayton who preceded him in death on May 1, 2014 in Conroe TX, with her loving family by her side.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Deborah Lyne Serrazza and husband James of The Woodlands TX, and Lorinda Sue Payne and husband Joe of Hoover AL; and 4 sisters, Anita Cayton and Margaret Neely of DeLeon Springs FL, Judy Steele of Glenville, and Kay Chidester of Clarksburg WV.

Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Joe Max Payne Jr., Ashley Cayton, Jordan Cayton, and Nicholas Sperrazza; a host of great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with his wife and parents, Mr. Cayton was preceded in death by his son, Richard Keith Cayton; 1 brother, William H. Cayton; and 1 sister, Juanita Chidester.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Groves and Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Following services, he will be entombed in Conroe TX, beside his loving wife, Arvalene. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service, Monday morning, at the mortuary in Glenville.
