Donna Cain, 92, of Big Bend

(01/28/2020)
Our mother, Donna Maxine Warrenfeltz Cain was born July 2, 1927 in New Creek, WV. After graduating from Keyser High School in Keyser, WV, she immediately went to work. As young men headed off to WWII, Mom was one of the women to go on the production line in one of the factories in Keyser until the GI's came home. She met Dad in Keyser as he was attending Potomac State, and they were married in 1949 and later moved to Calhoun County.

Mom was preceded in death by, her parents, John and Ethel Warrenfeltz; her two sisters, Madeline Robinette and Dorothy Fleming both of Keyser, WV; her son, Dean John Cain of Grantsville, WV; and her husband of 69 years, Francis E. Cain of Bigbend, WV.

Surviving Donna are her children, Juanita Miller, Nokesville, VA; David Cain, Tanner, WV; Susan Hall, Millstone, WV; Laura Stump, Troutville, VA. She is also survived by her brother, Bernard Warrenfeltz, of Aurora, IL; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephew and nieces.

Our dear mama entered heaven on January 17th, 2020 while in the compassionate care of the staff at Minnie Hamilton Long-Term Care Center. We can all see her brightening heaven with her impish grin while hugging our dad and Jesus. And if she ever hugged you, you know what a blessing that is!

Donna Cain spent 92 years making family, friends, faith and community her priorities. Her hands were never idle serving us all. She found great joy in putting together baby layettes for mothers-to-be. Not only that, but her quilting, crocheting, cooking, canning, gardening, and serving blessed so many. And who can ever forget her famous rolls that graced many holiday tables and church pot-luck dinners!

We are truly blessed to have her mighty example of a life FULLY lived. Mom was ready to serve at the polls during elections, blood drives, church meetings & retreats, 4-H club meetings & camps, at Brooksville Elementary story time, the Extension Homemakers Club activities, church youth meetings, cooking for athletes before events, Gideon's International meetings, and so much more. Pray for us as we miss her and try to live up to her example!

As far as arrangements, we are planning to celebrate her life at Brooksville Baptist Church's picnic pavilion on June 13th, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. Feel free to join us as we plan to enjoy Mom's favorite food - CAKE with lots of icing - and tell stories about her very full life.

We ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Minnie Hamilton Long-Term Care facility, Brooksville Baptist Church, or Little Kanawha Valley Christian School. Those donations can be made by sending them to the addresses below:
