TIMBER HIT HARD ON PINE CREEK-HUR AREA - Clark's Building Heavily Damaged

(03/01/2003)

Downed trees on upper Pine Creek

Trees fell on Clark's new building

Second story roof severely damaged

The Pine Creek-Hur section was one of the hardest hit areas in the recent ice storm. A new two-story garage and apartment under construction by Jack and Lola Clark on Upper Pine had trees go through the roof.

The woods in the immediate area of the Clark house is representative of downed trees, hundreds of them on the hillside and hollows. Hunters and walkers may have a difficult time navigating woodlands, but the wild animals may find better refuge.
