FRONTIER WORKING TO RESTORE PHONE SERVICE - Some Customers Still Out

(02/28/2003)
The Frontier Telephone Company reports some phone customers in Calhoun are still without service from the ice storm with hundreds of fallen trees downing lines.

Some have not had service since the week of February 17.

Karen Miller, a spokesperson for the company, said extra crews have been in the county from Princeton and Bluefield working to have service restored.

She said work crews have been working overtime.

Miller said the remote switch near Hur was knocked out, but it was restored on February 21.
