Ethel Mae Boggs, 79, of Spencer

Ethel Mae Boggs, 79, of Spencer WV died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.

She was born October 3, 1940, at Spencer, the daughter of the late Patrick and Bessie Smith Price.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mont Ray Boggs; sisters, Leona Burton, Mildred Szitas and Ruby Willadean Price; brothers, Jim Price and Charles Price.

Ethel attended the Landmark Baptist Church, Looneyville. She was a former volunteer at the Roane County Head Start and a former meter maid for the city of Spencer. One of her pastimes was attending and listening to music at the Roane County COA.

Survivors include her children, Mike Boggs, Loretta Hall, Rickey Boggs, Paul Boggs, Lisa Hall, Richard Boggs, Shelva Boggs, Juanita Harry, Bobbie Jo Starcher and Crystal Burdette all of Spencer; niece (who was like a daughter), Ruby Benear of Spencer; 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Webb of Spencer, Anna Smith and Orva Cross both of Barberton, Ohio.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Rick Perrine and Pastor John Swiney officiating. Burial will be in Tariff Cemetery, Tariff. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 Sunday at the funeral home.
