Icy conditions made for a treacherous commute. Emergency dispatchers said that several tractor trailers slid off of the interstate. One person was taken to the hospital for treatment.

At one point, I-79 was closed from exit 67 to exit 82, from Flatwoods to Burnsville. Freezing rain played a big role in several accidents.
