ELKINS SHOOTING - At least two people suffered injuries as a result of an incident which involved a shooting in Elkins Monday night.

According to a statement from the city of Elkins, police responded to an incident in the vicinity of the Seneca Mall parking lot, located on Third Street.

One of the individuals injured was due to a gunshot, according to local media reports. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition.

At least one other person was injured in a non-shooting related manner, according to reports. There was no word on the extent of the injuries.

Law enforcement have taken a suspect in the incident into custody, but no identity has been released.

According to the statement from the city, it has been determined that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
