MAE NEWELL McKOWN - Walker

Mae Newell McKown, 91, of Walker died February 24, 2003, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. Born in Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Francis Parsons Newell. She was a former employee of the American Viscose Company of Parkersburg, was a co-operator of the family store at Orma for several years and was a member of the Kanawha Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Gary McKown of West Chester, Pennsylvania and David McKown of Germantown, Maryland; two grandchildren, Cathy Perez of Denver, Colorado, and James McKown of Boulder, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Onnie" McKown in 1995; eight brothers; and one sister. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1st at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. The Rev. Jim Yoak will officiate. Interment will be in the Orma United Methodist Church Cemetery at Orma. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.
