Shelvia Jean O'Dell, 82, of Amma, Roane County, died November 30, 2019, at Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1937, at Pigeon, Roane County, the daughter of the late Riley Evert and Ruey Elizabeth McCune Keaton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Irvin Lewis O'Dell; and a daughter, Rebecca Lynn O'Dell. She was a member of the Johnson Creek Baptist Church, Looneyville and a former member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Amma. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Irvin Dwayne and Cynthia O'Dell of Amma and Vernon Dale O'Dell also of Amma; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Jessica Keaton of Spencer, Garry and Patricia Keaton of Amma and Jerry Keaton of Fairmont; granddaughters, Jennifer Hudnall of Charleston, Katie (Teddy) St. Clair of Daniels and Emily (Cody) Simpson of Portland, Ore.; great granddaughter, Meadow Anne St. Clair. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Roy Huffman officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
