SPENCER CHURCH-APARTMENT BLAZE SUMMONS REGIONAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS

Photos courtesy of Riley Keaton Fire broke out in Spencer Monday night. All of Roane's VFDs responded to the fire. Regional fire departments including the Arnoldsburg, Upper West Fork, Grantsville and Jackson County VFDs were summoned after the first report about 8 p.m. About 50 firefighters went to the scene. The fire is in the Alvord section of Spencer at 140 Front Street, the site of a former Pentecostal Church. Details will follow. Earlier in the evening Roane responders answered a call to a man who was injured in a tree stand fall.
