DUNBAR STABBING - Dunbar police said a man is charged after his girlfriend said he was going to kill her during an argument and then he stabbed her three times with a knife.

Brian Delon Jenkins, 43, of Charleston is charged with malicious assault after an incident that occurred Friday at a home on Dunbar Avenue, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found the woman bleeding from several wounds. She told police that Jenkins threatened to kill her during an argument, and then grabbed a knife from the kitchen area and stabbed her.

After being stabbed, the woman ran to her neighborsÂ’ residence and was assisted in contacting police.

The woman had wounds to her lower right arm, upper right arm and the left side of her abdomen. She was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital. No condition was immediately available.

Police said they found a large amount of blood on the front porch of the residence where the stabbing occurred and droplets of blood on the porch and steps.

Officers forced their way into the home and took Jenkins into custody, police said.

A knife was found near the doorway with what appeared to be blood on it.

Jenkins is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond.
