POWER STILL OUT FOR SOME - "Restoration Complete By Tonight For Most"

About 3,500 West Virginia homes and businesses are still in the dark -- more than a week after the ice storm struck the state, down from 130,000.

Dozens of extra crews moved into Calhoun over the weekend.

Power in some sections of Calhoun went out briefly yesterday, after being restored.

Power went out for less than an hour yesterday evening at Calhoun Control/911 and the center had to operate on battery back-up.

Allegheny Energy reports that more than 1,500 customers are still without electricity, with most of outages in Calhoun, Jackson and Roane counties. Allegheny says most power should be restored by last might, but a few customers won't have electricity until today.

About 1,900 American Electric Power customers are still without power, Nearly 1,600 of those are in Mason County and about 340 are in Jackson County.
