SUSPECT FLEES ON FOOT FROM SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT

The Calhoun Sheriffs Department encountered problems with a man on lower Stinson about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a short distance from Stinson Grocery. Reports indicated Sheriff Jeff Starcher and Chief Deputy Jason Chang went on foot pursuit of the man across fields and a stream, at one time the suspect dropping his flashlight. The man's identity was known to the sheriff. After considerable time, the hunt was called off, the sheriff indicating the case would be re-visited.
