Madge E. Bell Basnett, formerly of Calhoun

Madge E. Bell Basnett of Morganton NC, formerly of Calhoun County WV, passed away in her sleep, September 12, 2019 at home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1956 to the late Isaac and Teresa Bell.

Madge was united in marriage Aug. 2, 1975 to James Basnett until April 22, 2016, when he passed away.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Bell, and one sister, Teresa Lynn Bell.

Madge is survived by two sons, Michael and Jason Basnett both of Morganton; she is also survived by four brothers, Patrick Bell of Big Springs WV, Daniel Bell of Grantsville WV, Donald Bell of Morganton, Charles Bell of Annamoriah WV and two half brothers, James Bell and John both of Big Bend WV. She is also survived by five sisters, Ann Whisnant and Sheron Kirchberg, both of Morganton, Karen Six of Harrisville WV, Christene Davis of Big Bend, Linda Carpenter of Arnoldsburg WV, and two half sisters, Rebecca Starcher of Mt. Zion WV and Sara Bell of Big Bend. She is also survived by her father's second wife Loretta Bell of Big Bend.

Madge had an uncle and Aunt whom she loved very much, Charles ans Wilma Bell.

She will be laid to rest at Bryner Chapel on Joker Ridge on October 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Steve Norman officiating the service for her family.
