Actress Jennifer Garner (right) challenged PHE students to improve their reading skills during summer break. All students received a packet with a reading log and a graphic organizer.

Garner, who grew up in West Virginia, is an activist for the "Save the Children," program

Students who completed and returned their packet by Aug. 16th received $20 from Ms. Garner. Students had a choice of reading 10 children’s books or 5 chapter books then they had to complete the reading log and the graphic organizer/book report in order to receive the money.

Twenty-two students completed the project. Miss Garner sent a video congratulating each student and challenging them to keep reading!
