Two suspects were arrested after a man in another state watching from security cameras at his sister's house near Reedy saw two people trying to break in.

The home on Liverpool Road owned by an elderly woman is vacant and monitored by cameras at the out of state residence of her brother, who also serves as his sister's power of attorney.

A little after 9 p.m. on Sept. 5 the brother contacted 911 in Roane County to report two persons at the property trying to gain entry to the house. They left without getting inside the home.

Both suspects were gone when police arrived. but Sheriff Todd Cole reviewed tapes provided by the brother and saw two people trying to pry open the back door.

The brother recognized one of the persons as Stephanie Gonzalez, 40, of 343 Market Street.

Gonzalez was arrested Sept. 17 along with Jeffrey Mitchell Hoskins, 58, of 1829 Spring Run Road, Arnoldsburg, on charges of attempted burglary, conspiracy and trespassing.

Both were arraigned by Roane Magistrate Ron White and lodged in the regional jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.

At a preliminary hearing for Gonzalez Monday, White found probable cause to send the case to circuit court for consideration by a grand jury.

Hoskins waived his right to a hearing and his case also was bound over to circuit court.
