William "Hoppy" Knicely, 73, of Rosedale

William "Hoppy" Knicely age 73, of Rosedale WV was welcomed with open arms by the Lord on September 21, 2019 at Roane General Hospital. He was born on September 3,1946 in Morgantown WV son of the late Earl and Ona McCumbers Knicely. Hoppy was an ordained minister and faithful member of the Arnoldsburg Community Church for 28 years. He loved witnessing to others about God and had a love for hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Vonda Knicely, son Willie Strickland, grandson Jeremy Knicely, brothers Larry, Noah "Sonny", James "Jimcrow", sisters Bonnie, Loretta, Virgie, Belvie, Deloris, and Donnie. He is survived by his sons William, Guy, and James "Jimbo"; daughters Loretta and Leann; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Jean, Waverline, and Darline. A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV on Tuesday September 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Cleston Garrett officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Knicely Cemetery in Elmira WV. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
