Harry E. Jack Parson, 83, of Normantown, WV

Harry E. “Jack” Parsons, 83, of Normantown, WV; departed this life on the evening of Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence, with his loving family by his side.

He was born August 13, 1936 in Gilmer County, son of the late Delbert and Geneva Harris Parsons.

Jack worked for American Window Cleaning Co. in Washington, D.C. for many years. After returning to West Virginia in the early 1980’s, Jack worked for Waco Oil and Gas as a Drill Rig Operator and later retired in 2009 from EQT Corp. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed hunting rabbits and working extensively with his beloved Rabbit dogs, working in his vegetable garden, and spending time with his family and friends.

On February 29, 1959 Jack was united in marriage to Geraldine Marks Parsons, who survives at their Normantown home.

Surviving are 6 children, Kennetta Sampsel and husband Paul of Wooster, OH; Harry E. Parsons Jr. and wife Debbie of Dundee, FL; Delbert “Jim” Parsons and wife Sherry of Dunkirk, MD; Rodney Parsons of Manassas, VA; Kevin Parsons of Normantown, WV; and David Parsons and wife Kelly of Westminster, MD; 2 brothers, Jessie Parsons of Parkersburg, WV; and Steven “Bub” Parsons and wife Regina of Glenville, and 7 sisters, Madeline Duskey of Tanner, WV;, Kay Peters and husband John of Normantown, Greta Peters and husband Paul of Normantown, Wanda Accord of Beckley, WV; Cora Kimes of New Haven OH; Trish Kniceley of Arnoldsburg, WV; and Hallie Minney of Sand Fork, WV.

Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family and friends.

Along with his parents, Jack is preceded in death by 4 siblings, Lenora Miller, Pearl Parsons, Eddie Parsons, and Chester Parsons.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday, September 20, 2019 with Pastor Jim Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown, WV. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Thursday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
