Marchetia Ann Cottrill , 78 , of Sand Fork

Marchetia Ann Cottrill age 78 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this life on the evening of Friday, September 13, 2019 at her son’s residence in Glenville with her loving family by her side.

She was born October 4, 1940 in Normantown, WV; daughter of William Beckett of Grafton, OH; and the late Beatrice Facemire Miller.

Marchetia was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy every evening, collecting antiques, feeding and watching birds, caring for her pets and animals, tending to her garden, and cooking and canning.

On December 24, 1982 Marchetia was united in marriage to Edward G. Cottrill, who survived at their Indian Fork home.

Surviving are 8 children, Lisa Toms of Camden, WV; Tammy Cook of Jane Lew, WV; Millie Newman of Elkview, IN; Douglas Hughes of Glenville, NC; Doug Cottrill of Glenville, Edward Cottrill II of Glenville, Karen Stutler and husband Richard of Jane Lew, and John Cottrill of Newell, WV; and 4 siblings, James Beckett and wife Ruth Ann of Belington, WV; Linda Gargasz and husband Ed of Amherst, OH; Michael Beckett of Coraopolis, PA; and Jeffrey Beckett and wife Tina of Newton Falls, OH.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Derek Greenleaf, Edward Cottrill III, Devin Cottrill, John Cottrill II, Lydia Mae Cottrill, Luke Montgomery, Dylan Montgomery, Lindsey Taylor, Lana Taylor, Lucas Garrett, Daniel Davis, Justin Cook, Elizabeth Cook, Travis Cook, Miranda Harden, and Doug Doughty, and 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Along with her mother, Marchetia is preceded in death by her grandson, Tres Harden, 2 siblings, R. David Miller and Gary Beckett, and her step-father, Ewing Miller.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc.; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Saturday, September 21, 2019 with Jordan Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the McHenry II Cemetery near Sand Fork. Friends will be received from 5-7 PM; Friday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
