A mother and her son were arrested in connection with an ATV reported stolen in Calhoun County and located in Roane County.

Leila Fay Hardway, 47, of 3520 Beech Road, Orma, and Dustin Edward Hardway, 29, of 3346 Otto Rd., Spencer, were charged with transferring or receiving stolen property and conspiracy by Trooper Brian Young of the State Police detachment in Grantsville.

The charges allege that the owner, James Brewster, reported the ATV stolen in Calhoun County Sept. 3, the same day he notified police he had spotted it at the Dustin Hardway residence on Otto Road.

The mother and son were arraigned by Roane Magistrate Jason Bennett and lodged in the regional jail in lieu of $20,000 bond each while awaiting preliminary hearings.

State Police from the Spencer detachment arrested another son, Justin Lee Hardway, 27, also of 3346 Otto Rd., two days earlier on unrelated charges. He was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bond set by Bennett for driving while his license revoked for DUI-3rd offense, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, improper registration and no proof of insurance.
