Irona Jane Yeager, 72 of Grantsville

Irona Jane Yeager, 72 of Grantsville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday August 26, 2019 in Morgantown, WV, surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 24, 1947 in Millstone, WV to James and Goldie Stump Vannoy.

Irona married the love of her life, Parker, on April 25, 1964. She worked at RFI and then Goodrich when they took the plant over and put in over 30 plus years of service. When Irona retired she put her time into helping the children of Calhoun County. She put in countless hours in the athletic boosters program at the Middle School to ensure each and every child had exactly what they needed. She loved children and taking care of them. She touched the lives of many children in Calhoun County as they also held a special place in her heart.

Irona's true pride and joy was her family and she made sure everyone knew that. Her family was her everything. She was also proud of her strong faith and love for our Lord and Savior. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She leaves behind her husband of 55 years Parker; son Kevin and Penny Yeager, of Looneyville WV; daughter Kimberly and Clay Rader of Annamoriah WV; grandsons Kevin Jr. and Shauna Yeager, Zachary Yeager, and Justin Yeager all of Grantsville; five great grandchildren Joselynn, Liam, Payden, Ella, and Elijah all of Grantsville; and brother Elden and Diane Vannoy of Ladysmith VA.

Along with her parents, Irona is preceded in death by her siblings Mary Green and Earl Vannoy.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. - Philippians 1:21-23.

A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville WV on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barry Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Clayton Stump Cemetery.
