8/3/2019 - Unofficial sources identified Ronnie Estep, in his late 50s, as the man shot late Friday night at a cabin on Timberwolf Road, off Russett Road.

Estep was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System by Calhoun EMS, reportedly with non-life threatening injuries.

Reports indicated that police are looking for Charles "Bucky" Bell, Jr., in his 30s, in relation to the incident.

No other details are available related to the incident.

8/2/2019 -A man called 911 on a scratchy cellphone about 10 p.m. Friday night and reported he had been shot by a "punkhead," then hanging up.

911 dispatchers continued to locate the area from which the call was made, making brief connection with the man who reported he had been shot.

The Calhoun Sheriffs Department, the State Police and the Grantsville Police responded to 2231 Timberwolf Road (originally called Wolf Run) off Russett Road.

The Calhoun Sheriffs Department, arriving on scene, indicated the man had been shot by a small caliber gun, reportedly being shot in the leg or thigh.

A Calhoun deputy sheriff reported he had been able to stop the bleeding.

Calhoun EMS was in Spencer when the incident occurred and was responding to the scene.

Reports indicated that the person who did the shooting left the area, tentatively identified as a Calhoun man living in the Parkersburg area.

Authorities were investigating the incident, the victim transported to Minnie Hamilton Health System.

Timberwolf Road (off Russett Rd.) winds into a heavily wooded remote area and dead-ends in Gilmer County, a number of hunting cabins in the area.
