WOOD-WIRT MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

(08/02/2019)
A Wood-Wirt county man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography and witness tampering charges, according to U.S. attorney Mike Stuart.

Daniel Roy Mace, 37, was sentenced to more than eight years in prison. He was previously convicted by a federal jury on 15 felony charges, including 12 counts of receipt of child pornography between June 24 and August 3 of 2016.

Law enforcement discovered over 80 videos of child pornography on Mace's computer after a search warrant was executed.

Mace was also convicted for one count of distribution of child pornography, one count possession of child pornography depicting prepubescent minors, and one count of witness tampering. This came after Mace provided a false alibi during a testimony before a federal grand jury back in January of 2019.
