Barbara A. Cumpston, 66, of Ohio

Barbara A. Cumpston, 66, of North Lawrence, Ohio, passed away July 25, 2019 at Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio.

She was born December 23, 1952 at Spencer, the daughter of the late Brown and Retta Boggs Jarvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Beverly Morrison; brothers, Harley, Danny and David Jarvis. Barb was a 25 year resident of North Lawrence, formerly of Marshallville, Ohio.

She was co-owner and operator of Miracles Happen Upholstery for 20 years and had previously worked at the Econo Lodge, Wooster, Ohio. Also, she was a member of the Amherst Community Church, Massillon, Ohio and a lifelong member of Al-Anon. Her pastimes were crafting and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, of 34 years, John Cumpston; daughter, Melissa "Paige" (Ryan Butler) Rogers of Spencer; stepson, James A. (Amanda) Cumpston of Salem; step grandchildren, Lilly, Preston and Christina; brothers, R.D. (Jackie) Jarvis and Howard Jarvis both of Spencer; sister-in-law, Lorna Jarvis also of Spencer; many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Calvin Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in the Swank Cemetery, Spencer. The visitation will be one hour before the service.
