Ruth Ellen Burnside, 77, of Ivydale

Ruth Ellen Burnside, 77, of Ivydale WV passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Clay Health Care Center following a long illness. She was born March 27, 1942 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Denver and Icie Hardway Criner. She is survived by her sons Phillip Burnside of Duck WV and Richard Burnside of Ivydale WV; step-son, Jerod Burnside of Florida; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Cottrell, Ashley May, Johnny Blevins, Little Phillip Burnside, and Peyton Mae Burnside; one great-grandson, Zaden Cadle; sisters Wanetta Marks of Duck WV and Marie Marks of Fairmont WV; brother, Denver Leon Criner of Akron Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Amos Burnside; daugthers, Debra Ann and Kathlene Blevins; sister, Cora Criner, and brother, James Criner. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Ivydale WV with Pastor James Williamson officiating.
