She was born May 5, 1931 in Perkins WV, daughter of the late Forest E. and Gale Turner Boggs.

Joy was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed studying the Bible, quilting, gardening, and was an amazing cook. Joy was a Baptist by faith and member of the Rosedale Baptist Church for the last 50 years.

Surviving is her daughter, Dreama Rose and husband Clarence of Rosedale; 2 grandchildren, Joy Machele Rose of Rosedale, and Eric Rose of Ruffin NC; and 2 great-grandchildren, Kody and Dylan Rose of South Charleston WV.

Also surviving are 2 siblings, John Boggs and wife Sharon of Perkins WV, and Janis Knall of Kent OH; special nephew, Mark Smith of Elyria OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Along with her parents, Joy is preceded in death by 5 siblings, Helen Melton and husband George, Harold Boggs and wife Nellie, Betty Lou Stiltner, Barbara Dages, and Bryce Lee Boggs.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 with Pastor Stewart Fitzwater officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Normantown WV. Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
