Robert Bruce Berdine, 83, of Arnoldsburg

Robert Bruce Berdine, 83, of Arnoldsburg, WV passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 with family by his side.

Robert was born July 26, 1935 in Grantsville WV. He graduated from Calhoun County High School, received a Bachelors degree from Glenville State College and a Masters degree from West Virginia University.

Robert briefly taught school in Marietta, Ohio and retired as a classroom teacher and school principal from the Calhoun County school system. He had an interest in cattle farming as a part time vocation, and other interests in woodworking, gardening, bee keeping, and fishing. He attended the Mt. Zion Untied Methodist Church and enjoyed teaching adult Sunday school class earlier at the Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Ferrell Berdine, and brother, William Ferrell.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Brannon Berdine, and sons, Kenneth Bruce Berdine (Jessie K. Holmes) and Michael Ashton Berdine (Debby); grandchildren Jessie Lynn Berdine, Addison Willow Berdine, and Eleanore Wren Berdine; sister-in-law, Doris Brannon Davis; brother-in-law, H. Gail Hayhurst; and sister-in-law, Susie Brannon. Robert loved his nieces Nenna Davis, Lisa Davis Heller, Cindy Brannon Carbaugh, and Amie Brannon Carper.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Weaver officiating, at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg WV. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial service will take place at the Brannon Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
