Gary Lee Collins, 68, of Glenville

Gary Lee Collins age 68 of Glenville WV departed this life unexpectedly on the evening of Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his residence on Camden Flats, following an extended illness.

He was born October 17, 1950 in Weston WV, son of the late Oren Bantz and Charlene Gowdy Collins.

Gary was a graduate of Lewis County High School, class of 1968, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed surfing the internet, traveling, photography, and socializing with friends and family.

Gary is survived by his brother, Michael Todd Collins and wife Linda of Illinois; his sister, Tina Haney and husband Zoran of Florida; 3 nieces, Rebecca Collins, Samantha Dothager and Myra Thomas; and 3 nephews, Michael Collins Jr., Matthew Collins, and Neal Cotton.

Along with his parents, Gary is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ray and his step-mother, Colleen Ellyson Collins.

Gary’s request for cremation has been honored and a graveside memorial service will be conducted at the Stalnaker Cemetery on Thursday June 27, 2019 starting at 10:00 a.m. All friends and family of Gary Lee are welcome to attend. In Lieu of flowers, the family request donation be sent to the Gilmer County Senior Citizens, 720 N. Lewis Street, Glenville WV 26351.
