CALHOUN MAN ARRESTED ASSAULT ON OFFICER

A Nicut, Calhoun man has been charged with assault on an officer, obstructing an officer and interfering with emergency communications. Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher responded to a 911 call. David Oscar Thomas, 59, is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $15,000. The incident happened in the early morning hours, reportedly involving the summoning of a Calhoun EMS ambulance. Thomas has previously been arrested during well-being checks, reportedly intoxicated.
