Alice Pauline Tipton, 76, of Glenville

Alice Pauline Tipton age 76 of Glenville WV, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial hospital in Weston WV, following an extended illness.

She was born November 5, 1942 in Salamanca NY, daughter of the late Hank and Emma Robbins.

Alice is a former employee of Utica Steel in New York and in her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, knitting, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever possible.

In August of 1972 Alice was united in marriage to Tommie Tipton, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1988.

Surviving are 8 children, Rita Oldaker (Joseph) of Lesage WV, Robin Howes (Clinton) of Glenville, David Hakes of Washington State, Dorothy Smith (Johnathan) of Tacoma WA, Emma Dix of Huntington WV, Alan Hakes of Missouri, William Hakes (Tracy) of St. Mary's WV, Tommie Tipton of Akron OH; and 2 siblings, Merle and Grace Robbins of New York,

Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by 2 children, Anna Reed and Betty Nicholson; 3 siblings, Arnold, Mason, and David Robbins; and 2 grandchildren, Arnold David Hakes, and Jimmy Reed.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 3:00 p.m. Monday June 17, 2019 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Following services Alice's request for cremation will be honored and the family will have private graveside services at a later date. Friends and family will be received from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
