James Marlon Jett, 71, of Pigeon, Roane County, died June 3, 2019, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston. He was born November 16, 1947 at Big Pigeon, the son of the late Marlon Waitman and Christine Carter Jett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Lee Jett; and a brother, Donnie Jett. On August 1, 1971 at Newton, he was united in marriage with Alice Kay Hughes. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Alice K. Jett of Pigeon; son, James Jett of Pigeon; brother, Ronnie Jett also of Pigeon; sisters, Nellie Dunlap of Spencer and Debbie Shaffer of Clendenin; four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor John Means officiating.
