Leona Frances Yoak, 85, of Grantsville

Leona Frances Yoak, 85, of Grantsville, WV passed away peacefully at home on May 24, 2019.

Leona was born on May 22, 1934 to the late Homer and Icy Kemp Jones and grew up in Big Bend, WV.

Leona graduated from Calhoun High School in 1952 and moved to Columbus, Ohio. She married Norman Francis Yoak on August 29, 1953. Leona retired from JC Penney where she worked as a seamstress. In 1998, after retiring, Norman and Leona moved back to White Pine Rd. in God's country. She spent her retirement years crafting quilts and making rugs on an old-fashioned loom. She loved to give away her creations to family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Yoak; sisters, Marge Zatik, Nancy Travis, Oleta Ferrell, and Deloris Rogers; and brothers, Cleo Jones and Denzil (Pete) Jones.

Leona leaves to cherish her loving memory, sister Joan Jones, brother James (Brenda) Jones, sons Greg (Jeni) Yoak and David (Melissa) Yoak, grandchildren Andrew (Kellen), Amara (Israel), and Beth, great-grandchildren Luke, Benjamin, and Maria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Kaye Yoak for being there.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Carroll McCauley and Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Maze Family Cemetery in Munday, WV.
