Last Tuesday in broad daylight someone broke into the storage shed at Calhoun Park and stole a new leaf blower and a chainsaw, according to park board president Donnie Pitts.

Last year the barn was broken into and items stolen, while there is repeated vandalism by people spinning their wheels on the baseball field and other areas of the park tearing up the sod.

Individuals have been camping in an area not designated for camping and leaving trash.

"It’s very disheartening to have people steal the items it took us so long to get so that we can keep the park up for everyone. There are so many good people in Calhoun County, it’s a shame a few have to spoil it," said Pitts.
