The Concerned Citizens of Roane County will host a public forum on climate change and the new Green Deal on May 7, 7 p.m. at the Heritage Park Community Building in Spencer.

Several organizations, businesses, clubs, and others have been invited to exhibit displays and informational tables during this event. Their participation does not necessarily indicate any stance on the Green New Deal.

Confirmed participants include OVEC—the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Solar United Neighbors of West Virginia, WV Citizens Climate Lobby, and Greenfire Regeneration Group.

One display will include a map of the lower 48 states marking the locations where alarming climate-related events are underway or predicted.

The group will look at what the Green New Deal could mean for people living in Roane County.

Snacks and refreshments served.
