RITCHIE MAN FACING MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES

Parkersburg Police say Kevin Byrd, 33, of Cairo, Ritchie County, had nearly 5 grams of suspected fentanyl, 3.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 9 suspected MDMA pills hidden in his underwear when he was taken to police headquarters after his arrest. Police pulled him over on Park Avenue for a traffic violation and used a k-9 to search his car. That search turned up drug paraphernalia and more than $720 in cash. He’s charged with three counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance. Byrd was arraigned Monday night in Wood County Magistrate Court. He remains in the North Central Regional Jail on a $300,000 bond.
