MAN FAILS CHECKPOINT AT CALHOUN CIRCUIT COURT - Calhoun Man Arrested By Clay Authorities

Brian Douglas Cowan was arrested by Deputy Sheriff C. J. Myers and charged with possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine after he attempted to enter through the screening checkpoint in Calhoun County Circuit Court.

Cowan set the metal detector off, at which time he was thoroughly searched by Sheriff Jeff Starcher. Sheriff Starcher detected a concealed item in Douglas' Cowan's pants pocket.

It was discovered to be a blue pill container with a short piece of drinking straw, and a small clear plastic baggy containing crystal methamphetamine.

He was arraigned before Magistrate Rick Postalwait, where he entered a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance of methamphetamine.

A Calhoun man has been arrested by Clay authorities.

Jeremy Scott Burrows, 27, has been charged with driving suspended, obstructing an officer, simple possession, no insurance and expired MVI.

He is in Central Regional Jail.

Brian Keith Burrows, 38, was incarcerated in CRJ for home confinement violation and domestic battery.
