They say Williams was arrested early Saturday morning in Mineral Wells in the area of the Microtel Inn.

Court documents say Jacob Williams shot his father in the stomach area inside a home on the 1500 block of Crescent Street.

"The father and son had an argument and at some point during the argument, the son, produced and brandished a nine millimeter pistol, shot the victim one time in the stomach, and shortly thereafter fled the scene in a vehicle," says Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin.

Jason Williams was then transported to WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and is currently on a ventilator in the ICU.

Jacob Williams was arraigned in Magistrate Court on Saturday morning.

"He was charged with malicious wounding, which is a felony. There could be additional charges later on once this process gets going on to grand jury," notes Chief Martin.
