Juanita Virginia Cook, 88, of Left Hand

Juanita Virginia Cook, 88, of Left Hand, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at home.

She was born December 14, 1930 at Tariff, the daughter of the late Cecil and Cora Dye Tallman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jean Tawney; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; and one step grandchild; three sisters, Kathleen Harold, Nancy Romine and Evelyn Jarvis; a brother, Glendol Tallman.

Mrs. Cook was a retired employee of the former Spencer State Hospital. She enjoyed walks and singing gospel and country songs.

Survivors include her children, Larry D. Cook of Left Hand, Sharon L. Smith of Newton, Gary W. Cook and Shelly L. Carper also of Left Hand; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; four brothers, Marshall Tallman of Orrville, Ohio, Delmas and Milton Tallman both of Newton, and Michael Tallman of Spencer; one sister, Marsha Morris of Newton.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14 at the Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. David Goodwin officiating. Burial will be at the J. Herbert Smith, Sr. Family Cemetery, Vineyard Ridge, Looneyville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
