FAIRMONT STABBING - A Fairmont woman has been charged after admitting to stabbing a man in the back.

According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to Watson Avenue Sunday after the victim knocked on a resident's door and said he had been stabbed. Officers say the victim had two wounds on his upper back. The victim told police that 34-year-old Jessica Rager had stabbed him.

Police say they later spoke to Rager who admitted to stabbing the victim.

Rager is charged with malicious wounding.

TWO DEAD - Taylor County Sheriff Terry Austin said a man died at the scene, and a woman died at Ruby Memorial Hospital after Monday's shooting incident.

The man was identified as 58-year-old Kenneth Cottrell and the woman was identified as 41-year-old Angela Bittinger, according to West Virginia State Police.

Austin said there was a third person in the trailer who called 911 but was not injured. This person is not believed to be a suspect.

The crime scene team was still at the trailer at 4:30 Monday afternoon and was expected to be there for a couple more hours.
