Results for the Route 33 Wrestling Spring Breakdown 2, held Saturday, at the Armory in Spencer, have been announced, according to Director J.C. Cosgrove.

Ring Announcer was Hank Hudson, Referees were Johnny Long and Nathan Wolfe, and the wrestling celebrity in the house was "The Firebird" Shawn Phoenix.

Chief ThunderBear (with Mike Lupin) pinned "The Real Deal" Kevin Cruit in 8:28, as his sidekick Lupin distracted Ref. Wolfe, the Chief kicked the middle ring rope into Cruit's groin and then clocked his helpless foe with a running knee strike to get the victory cover.

"The American Outlaws" ("The Mercenary" Jim Daily and "The Southern Knight" Bryan Blade) defeated "Team Flashpoint" (Chase Ryan and "Mr. Center Of The Earth" Jimmy Fahrenheit. Daily pinned Ryan in 9:10 to advance to the tournament final. Fahrenheit was preparing to leap from a ring post for a second consecutive top-rope splash-press onto a prone Daily, when Ryan suddenly tagged himself into the match. Ryan attempted to set up Daily for an "emerald frosion" maneuver, but "The Mercenary" managed to wiggle free down Chase's back for a "sunset-flip" cradle pin. Afterward sore-loser Fahrenheit dealt his partner Ryan a hellacious beatdown with the aid of a ringside chair.

Mongo-J.T. Hogg (400 lbs.) defeated "The Grimy Scots" (Hamish Stuart and "Grizzly" Duncan McBain. Mongo pinned Stuart following Hogg's chokeslam in 10:37 to advance to the tournament final. However, Mongo suffered a match long double-team thrashing until he and partner Hogg were able to pull out the victory during a four-way skirmish.

After the first leg of the tag tournament, Route 33 Wrestling director J.C. Cosgrove was trying to introduce the night's guest of honor, "The Heir Apparent" Chris LeRusso, when suspended heavyweight champion "Mr. 5-Star" Gary Gandy beat up a trio of security personnel en route to the ring.

Gandy then grabbed Cosgrove and backed her rudely against a turnbuckle, prompting LeRusso to storm to her rescue and drive her tormentor from the ring. Cosgrove then lifted Gandy's suspension to make the following match: A non-title bout between champion Gandy and LeRusso and, should LeRusso emerge victorious, he would be granted a heavyweight title crack on the June 29th live event. Gandy had to accept these terms or else be stripped of his championship.

Tommy Forte pinned "The Mind Eracer" Remy LaVey (representing "The Culmination") in 6:31 after dropping his foe matward from a vertical-suplex position into a "stunner" maneuver.

Non-Title Stipulation Match ordered by Director J.C. Cosgrove: "The Heir Apparent" Chris LeRusso pinned champion "Mr. 5-Star" Gary Gandy in 9:00 to earn a Route 33 Wrestling heavyweight title bout on the June 29th live event. As Ref. Johnny Long tried to wrestle a ringside chair away from Gandy, LeRusso nailed his distracted foe with a thrust-superkick to next score the three-count.

"The American Outlaws" ("The Mercenary" Jim Daily and "The Southern Knight" Bryan Blade) defeated Mongo/J.T. Hogg (Blade pinned Mongo) in 17:38 for the title. For the second time on this evening Mongo suffered a sustained double-team beatdown which left his left arm virtually useless. Daily proceeded to beat Hogg at ringside with the 400-pounder's own lucky horseshoe to take him out of the match. Daily then smashed Mongo's injured arm with the horseshoe to set up his partner Blade's swinging neckbreaker and championship clinching three-count.

Route 33 Wrestling will return to the Armory in Spencer, WV on Saturday, June 29th with 7:00 p.m. bell time.
