Pleasant Hill School students and staff celebrated Read Across America Week and Dr. SeussÂ’ birthday March 4th-8th.

Many special activities and theme-days were planned including Hat Day, Favorite Color Day, Wacky Wednesday and Sock Day. Each teacher did special reading activities with their class and students learned about Dr. Seuss.

The students attended the Mark Clayton Magic Show on Wednesday and on Thursday were treated to an educational animal program by Barn Hill Preserve where they had the opportunity to see and be photographed with a baby kangaroo, bearded dragon and tortoise.

To end the activities, actress Jennifer Garner read two books to 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade students one of which was written by West Virginia author Cynthia Rylant.
