Judge Anita Harold Ashley held Circuit Court in Grantsville Tuesday, processing a number of cases, according to Prosecutor Shannon Johnson.
Paula McAtee appeared for a Final Review of her probation period after the entry of a high/low plea. The Court found that she should stand convicted of misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance and dismissed the felony charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver against her. Ms. McAtee's probation was extended by the Court until she has paid her court costs and restitution.
Nathaniel Lane appeared for a Final Review of his probation period following the entry of a high/low plea. The Court rescheduled the matter for March 7, 2019 at 9 a.m.
Shawn Parsons appeared on the State's Motion to Revoke and Forfeit Bond. Mr. Parsons admitted that he had been recently arrested for another criminal offense while on bond. The Court then revoked his bond and ordered that it be forfeited. He was remanded to the custody of the Regional Jail Authority.
Benjamin Jackson appeared on the State's Motion to Revoke Home Confinement and Forfeit Bond. Mr. Jackson admitted to the allegations in the motion. The Court revoked his bond and ordered that it be forfeited. He was remanded to the custody of the Regional Jail Authority.
Jason Conrad appeared for Jury Trial. The State moved to continue Trial as it was prepared to proceed on an older case. His case was set for March 26, 2019.
Brian Burrows appeared for Jury Trial. The Defendant moved for a competency evaluation and asked the Court to reduce his bond. This Court granted the motion for evaluation, continued his trial, and denied his motion for bond reduction. The case was set for trial on June 11, 2019.
Justin Hannah appeared for Jury Trial. Mr. Hannah entered a plea of guilty to Forgery, a Felony; Uttering, a Felony; and Receiving and Transferring Stolen Goods, a Felony. The Court set sentencing for April 24, 2019 at 9 a.m.
Joshua Settle appeared for Jury Trial on his charges of: Attempt to Disarm a Police Officer, a Felony; Obstructing an Officer, a Misdemeanor; Fleeing from an Officer, a Misdemeanor; Battery on an Officer, a Misdemeanor; Defective Equipment, a Misdemeanor; Third offense Driving While License Suspended, a Misdemeanor; Possession of a controlled substance, a Misdemeanor; Destruction of property, a Misdemeanor. A jury was empaneled and trial began. Trial is anticipated to last two days.
