SETTLE TRIAL ENDS WITH MULTIPLE CONVICTIONS

Following a two day jury trial before the Honorable Anita Harold Ashley, Joshua Settle, 20, was convicted of Attempting to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer, a felony; Obstructing an Officer, a misdemeanor; Fleeing from an Officer, a misdemeanor; Battery on an Officer, a misdemeanor; Defective Equipment, a misdemeanor; Third offense driving while license suspended, a misdemeanor; Possession of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor; and Destruction of property, a misdemeanor.

Prosecutor Shannon Johnson will hold a hearing for post-trial motions on April 3.

Settle filed an civil case on abuse charges in 2018 against Trooper Nathan Stepp during an arrest on Daniels Run, Calhoun County.
