Billy Burke Wilson, 80, of Big Springs

(03/04/2019)
Billy Burke Wilson passed away March 3, 2019 at the age of 80 surrounded by family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Roberta and his daughters, Deb (Frank) Goff and Bea (Mark) Isner.

Bill leaves countless memories with his four grandchildren, Kelly, Joe (Caysee), Jeff (Jessica), and Corey; his four great-grandchildren, Gia, Ava, Cohen, and Cason; his special great-nephew Eric (Katie) and many other family members and friends.

He was born November 20, 1938, the youngest child of the late Audra and Ollie Wilson. He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1957. After a few years in Illinois and St. Marys, WV he came home to Big Springs to raise his family and to farm. He was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church where four generations of his family have attended. Bill spent his career at Eureka Pipeline (Pennzoil) and retired after 36 years of service. Post-retirement he spent his days farming and helping his neighbors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Ritchie, Calvin (Hack) Wilson, and Bradford Wilson.

A service in celebration of Bill's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville with Rev. Ken Heiney officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, March 7 from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Saunders Cemetery in Big Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in memory of Bill, to Prosperity Baptist Church or Calhoun Christmas Connection.
