RITCHIE MAN RESCUED FROM FLOOD WATERS

A man was rescued from a flooded road in Ellenboro, Ritchie County, by the West Virginia Army National Guard Wednesday afternoon.

Aircrew members of the West Virginia Army National Guard's Company C, 2-104th General Support Aviation Battalion provided a successful aerial rescue mission for a man trapped in his vehicle due to flood waters. This was at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Local responders could not reach the stranded motorist without air support. The National Guard successfully rescued the man from the mud and flood waters along Bonds Creek.

They transported him safely to Ritchie County High School in Ellenboro to be evaluated by emergency medical personnel.

The battalion is based in Williamstown, West Virginia.
